8 STEPS

How We Care

Use these 8 steps as a checklist if you are ever in an accident. Safety for all parties involved is the #1 priority, but having steps to look at helps!

STOP

Immediately but do not obstruct traffic.

ASSIST INJURED

Have someone call police. (911) Repeat after 5 minutes.

SECURE

Names, phone numbers, addresses of other drivers, witnesses, and injured persons.

SECURE

Make, model, license numbers of all cars involved.

MAKE

A rough drawing of the scene if possible, showing the position of cars and other details.

DON'T

Hastily accept claim settlement at the scene of an accident.

REMAIN

Calm, courteous, and consistent in your version of the accident.

NOTIFY

Cavender Collision (210) 298-2834 as soon as possible. If your vehicle must be towed, request it be towed to Cavender Collision.
We have a 24-hour drop-off!

THINGS TO KNOW

1. Your car is the second largest investment you’re likely to make. Preserve it’s value and your safety by having it repaired professionally.


2. Never drive a vehicle that could be unsafe because of damages.


3. Some insurance companies may want you to visit one of their preferred shops before having your car repaired. You can do this or you may leave your vehicle at Cavender Collision and ask that the insurance company inspect your vehicle here.


4. There is no law requiring you to obtain more than one estimate appraisal.


5. You have the right to go to the repair shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot require you to go to a particular shop.


6. Differences to repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all of the necessary work needed. If you are not sure why one estimate is different from another you’ve recieved, please ask us.


7. Choose a shop that is I-CAR certified in both equipment and technicians.


8. Ask if the shop will be using genuine manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts.


9. Cavender Collision offers lifetime warranty on our paint and labor workmanship.


10. Let us help you negotiate your claim with the insurance company.
